How FactosBrain approaches a story

Accuracy comes before surprise. We separate evidence from interpretation and do not hide meaningful uncertainty.

Sources and review

Where possible, we prefer material close to the original evidence: research papers, public institutions, museums, universities, and specialist organizations. A widely repeated anecdote is not treated as settled fact without independent support.

Health, safety, law, and other consequential topics require stronger evidence and review.

The principal materials used to write and fact-check each story are published at the end of that article. A reference list helps readers inspect the evidence; it does not imply that any one source endorses every sentence in our account.

Headlines and language

A headline should accurately summarize the story. We do not hide important conditions for a click or present an open debate as a settled conclusion.

When stronger evidence appears or an explanation becomes inaccurate, we update the story and record the new date.
